Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Walnut Creek Concrete Works website and any estimate or work you ask us for. By using the site, calling us or sending the contact form, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site. A signed contract for your job comes first, so where it says something different from this page, the contract controls.
What we do
Walnut Creek Concrete Works is a concrete contractor in Walnut Creek, CA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, foundations, footings, retaining walls and other concrete work for homes and properties in Walnut Creek and the cities around it. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on the About page.
What the website says about our services is general information. It isn't an offer for your property. The exact scope of your job is what's written in your estimate and contract.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free and in person, and asking for one puts you under no obligation. We need to see the site, because the price depends on the size of the area, how much old concrete has to come out, the condition of the ground underneath, drainage, access for trucks and the finish you choose.
An estimate is our best figure from what we can see before work starts. If we find something we couldn't see, like soft ground, buried debris or old concrete thicker than expected, we'll stop and talk with you before doing extra work, and any change in scope or price is agreed in writing first.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed and we may need to update the figure.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a start date when the contract is signed, but concrete work depends on the weather. We won't pour in rain or in conditions that would weaken the slab, so we may move a date to protect your job, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens to full strength before people or cars use it. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on your slab, and damage from using it sooner isn't covered.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. Your contract sets out any cancellation rights the law gives you and any costs for materials already ordered or work already done.
Payment terms
Your contract lists the total price, any deposit and when each payment is due. Payments are due on the dates or at the stages written there.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is current. Any charges for late payment will be stated in the contract, and we'll only apply what the contract and California law allow.
Your part of the job
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything you know is underground, like sprinkler lines, drain pipes, septic parts or private utility lines. If we're not told about something buried and it's damaged during digging, we aren't responsible for that damage.
You're responsible for knowing where your property lines are and for any rules from your homeowners association. The contract will say who is getting any permit the job needs, and if a city or county requires one, work waits until it's in place.
Cracks, warranties and what we don't promise
Concrete shrinks as it cures and moves with the ground, so small cracks can happen even on a well-built slab. We cut control joints, grooves that give the concrete a planned place to crack, and we prepare the base to keep settling down, but we can't promise a slab will never crack.
Any warranty on our work is the one written in your contract, and it covers only what it says. Apart from that written warranty and any warranty California law requires, our work and this website are provided without other promises, spoken or implied.
A warranty doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as tree roots, ground movement, earthquakes, heavy vehicles beyond what the slab was built for, deicing chemicals, standing water from drainage we didn't build, or changes someone else made to the work.
Limits on our liability
To the extent California law allows, Walnut Creek Concrete Works isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, like lost use of your property or costs for other trades, that come from our work or from using this website. If we are found liable, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question.
Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for our own gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.
Using this website
We try to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but it's general information and may change without notice. Photos show past work and aren't a promise that your job will look the same.
The text, photos and design on this site belong to Walnut Creek Concrete Works and can't be copied for business use without our permission. Links to other websites are for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for what's on them.
Resolving a problem
If something about your job isn't right, call us at (925) 532-0140 first, because most problems are fixed fastest by coming out and looking at the concrete together. We'll work with you in good faith to find a fair answer.
If we can't settle it between us, either of us may suggest mediation before going to court. Any claim that isn't settled will be heard in the state courts of California.
Governing law
These terms and any contract for our work are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies to your use of the site. Changes don't alter a contract you've already signed unless we both agree in writing.
Questions about these terms
If you have a question about these terms, call us at (925) 532-0140 or reach us through our Contact page. We reply within 1 business day.
